    interview with Dr. Constantine Abaddon

" It's been fifteen years since the accident. Fifteen years to this day. New Year's Eve. My company wasn't partying. We were far too busy playing with our new toy to swig champagne. You see, we had formulated an insidious creation- one that could spread a terrible virus more quickly than anyone could have ever imagined. If we wanted to, we could have infected the entire world within months. But it wasn't finished- not yet. We didn't even know what it could do. Not fully. It was supposed to be an enzyme- a catalyst of sorts. Still, it was revolutionary enough to present to the public- well at least those of importance. There was a press conference. The big man showed up- yeah, the old President. He wasn't alone- he'd brought all of Congress with him. Long story short, they wanted to give our virus, our hard work to some governmental scientists with the mental brilliance of monkeys. They wanted control. I wasn't having that."

    "So... you released it."

    "Yes. Unaware of the... effects."

    The virus did indeed spread.
One third of the world's population has become infected.
    But these people aren't dying... they're evolving.[/align]

It's been fifteen long years since the Virus was released. Hated at first, these godly beings soon became the object of reluctant wonder and intrigue as well. After all, who hasn't wished for superpowers? It may have took some time, but compromise was finally made in the U.S.A. The verdict? That mutants, too, were living beings, and deserved all the rights that any American citizen could hope for. That, however, made them subject to the same laws.

Those with superhuman powers were not allowed to harm others with these powers intentionally, though some were uncontrollable. To aid in the effort of integration, the government developed a reservation for mutants ten years ago, a place known as King's Corners. This place was created to not only give these people a place of their own, away from society and under supervision. In a sense, they have constructed their own world, within the world. But, cooperative mutants proved to be much more productive than anyone would have thought.

They became the government's ultimate weapons, gaining patriotic celebrity status. There is a facility on the reservation to train new mutants, create teams of militaristic heroes that could track/detain dangerous mutants, and maintain serenity, known as the Pantheon. The Pantheon's premier team is known as RISE, while the world's other team is known as ASH. Since a large majority of these people were children and teens, a school- the Lyceum- was also developed, with its own junior team known as SPARK. With so many people gathered together, and so much action taking place, boiling points are sure to rise. Will the adults rise to their call of duty, or let their lives get in the way? Will the students be able to overcome drama, to become legendary heroes? Will these government-issue mutant police be able to keep the peace, or will the bad far outweigh the good? We'll just have to wait and see...
